Listing import policy
Gets how this Connection links imported listings.
This policy belongs to the Connection, not the entire account. You can therefore import one store conservatively and another with assistance. It decides only what happens when an external offer has no local binding; it does not change listings already imported and does not publish anything.
| Policy | Result for each external variation |
|---|---|
unlinked | creates/updates the observed MarketplaceProduct and Listing without Product, Variant, variation, or binding creation |
match_only | creates the MarketplaceProduct variation and the binding only when SKU or GTIN finds one unique local Variant |
match_or_create | uses the unique match; if there is none, creates minimum Product/Variant records, the variation, and the binding |
Matching never uses a title, copy, or similarity. That prevents products with similar names from sharing quantity by accident. If SKU and GTIN find more than one candidate Variant, nothing is bound or created, under any policy, and the Listing becomes linkState: ambiguous; correct identifiers or bind manually. A variation the MarketplaceProduct already knows by its external id is reused, without a new match.
With match_or_create, the created Product is a quarantine base: technical title, metadata.imported: true, disabled inventory, and options that preserve external identity. Complete and review these fields before treating an imported base as canonical catalog data.
