This route is not in the API yet. This page shows what it will do. Fields, examples and the playground arrive when it ships.
In draft, submitted or scheduled, you can change items, scheduledFor and volumeCount; the reservation follows the difference. With status: in_transit (plus carrier and trackingCode), you say the boxes were dispatched: the stock leaves the warehouse, with the fulfillment_transfer movement.
Changing only reference creates no job. An invalid transition responds 409 (inbound_shipment_status).
